Hackett gets third Player of Week

Utah's Tom Hackett had five punts for 277 yards in a home win against Fresno State.

Utah’s Tom Hackett averaged 44.7 yards per punt in a road win over Stanford.

AUGUSTA, Ga. — The Augusta Sports Council and Ray Guy Award are proud to announce Tom Hackett, University of Utah, as the Ray Guy Award Player of the Week.

Hackett had nine punts for 402 yards, averaging 44.7 yards per punt in a road win against Stanford, with a net punting average of 42.3 yards. Six of those punts were marked inside the 20-yard line, four of which were marked inside the 10-yard line and one touchback. Hackett’s longest punt went for 54 yards.

Hackett is one of ten Ray Guy Award Semifinalists, and has been awarded the Ray Guy Award Player of the Week honor two other times this season. Hackett was also on the 2014 Ray Guy Award Preseason Watch List announced in July.
