Florida’s Johnny Townsend averaged 51.9 yards per punt with five marked inside the 20-yard line this past weekend. He has been named the Ray Guy Award Player of the Week.

AUGUSTA, Ga. — The Augusta Sports Council and Ray Guy Award are proud to announce Johnny Townsend of the University of Florida as the Ray Guy Award Punter of the Week.

Townsend had an incredible performance and greatly assisted in helping Florida beat Vanderbilt in a 13-6 win. Townsend punted seven times for 363 yards. He averaged 51.9 yards per punt with five punts marked inside Vanderbilt’s 20-yard line. Townsend’s net average from this weekend’s game was 49.9. His long punt was 62 yards.

Johnny Townsend is a Junior at Florida. Not only is he a standout on the field, he is very involved in public service. Townsend has dedicated his time in over eight different events to benefit his community.
